We still run a plugin on some of our older sites called widgekit v1.4.5. It’s basically a widget creator for things like sliders, slideshows, accordions and the such. Although we’ve stopped using this tech, every now and then we have to edit some content.
The problem is as follows, make the edit save…
BUT WIDGEKIT ALWAYS FAILS TO SAVE
Tried everything, emptying browser caches, site caches, deactivating all plugins. I trawled the internet for a FIX but the support seemed out dated, I think our support license is certainly out of date and I know our version of Widgekit was out of date.
BUT I ONLY HADE 3 EDITS TO MAKE ON MY SLIDESHOW
Anyway – finally found the FIX. I noticed our SERVER was running php v7.0 – I rolled the php version back to v5.3 and Voila!! It worked – simple as that.
Anyway – hope this helps some one, because this forum didn’t …
And if you use WIDGEKIT and you can’t save – check your php version
